International students are not allowed to work more than 16 hours a week during term time, according to the Singapore Government's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). A special work permit is required to work more than 16 hours per week. The candidate must hold a valid passport and must be at least eighteen years old. The applicant is only allowed to work under the parameters of the work permits granted by the authorities.
Students have the choice of staying back for one to three months. Students who have completed their education at a recognized and accredited Institute of Higher Learning will apply for and receive a one-year non-renewable Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) to remain in Singapore and search for related jobs.
International students studying in Singapore must apply to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for Singapore PR.
