WORK PERMIT

CPT and OPT Options

After completing their studies, F1 visa holders may apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT). Under OPT, students can remain in the United States for up to a year and qualify for work-authorized practical training in the area of their education and expertise.

Permission to serve 20 hours per week

International students with an F-1 or M-1 visa are permitted to serve on campus and participate in some training programs. During their first school year, students are not allowed to work off-campus.

STAY BACK

APPLY FOR A GREEN CARD

On an F1 visa, a student can remain in the United States for one year after completing the Non-STEM course. Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses would be granted a 24-month extension under the new law
